Last July my sweet husband and I were interviewed by the local paper about our coffee cart!

It was a simple little article, really sweet and to the point about what we do and when we would open for business.

Our friends shared the article, blessing us and hoping to promote our adventure…

Within a few days of the article being released, days before even opening for business, we got an email.

“Hi my name is Dolly, I am mutual friends with one of your friends in Nashville and I saw the article she shared of your business.  I was wondering if I could go ahead and book you for my wedding next June.”

IMG_3658How on earth are we already getting event requests…. Do we even do events??

We decided to calculate the costs, figure out travel fees, and find a time to meet Dolly and her soon-to-be for a tasting.

It was a hit! IMG_6311So we marked our calendars for June 18, 2016 and proceeded with our new business in town!

Sure enough, time has flown by  and we came upon June 18th faster than we realized.

We loaded the truck, booked an AirBnB and hit the road!

We got up early the next morning for this fabulous brunch wedding at The Ruby.

IMG_6287Let me tell y’all, Dolly was truly one of those brides that glowed.

It was so sweet to see how joyful and emotional she was to finally marry Ty.

#DollyTysTheKnotIMG_3662Everyone at this wedding was truly honored to be there, the bike made everyone ask the same question we always get “Can you actually ride this thing or… like… what?” we love telling people that we are hardcore and ride this thing around like it’s no big deal.

This fella was adorable and won me over in his bow tie + converse convo… #nashville.IMG_6281IMG_6283He was ready for his debut before I even took my camera out! What a man.

The lines of people wanting Cold Brew with their Chicken n Waffles was unbelievable… it felt like opening day of business all over again!

IMG_6274 IMG_6294I realized this past weekend, that the faithfulness of the Lord is not limited to my standards or understanding.

When we started our business, it was booming with lines for lots of coffee every day.

When winter months came, we had less business because of weather and transitioned our license to events only.

It was as if the Lord set it up before we realized it… with sweet Dolly & Ty.

We thought that selling coffee on the street would be our way of selling…

But the Lord knew more.

He loved us enough to partner with us before we knew we needed partnership.

Our business has been crazy blessed, a crazy adventure, and we hope the crazy never goes away.

God is crazy faithful, Y’all… somedays I’m humbled that He still picks me to love on and bless.

Dolly & Ty, it was a real treasure meeting you and watching you start a new life together, thank you for having us and asking us WAY in advance, congratulations to you both!

The Best Kind of Valentine

Do you remember when Valentine’s Day came around and you “made your own mailbox”?

You know, a little shoebox, decorated to your liking, for all your friends to drop Valentine’s cards into during your class Valentine’s Day Party?

My mom would take me to Dollar Tree to buy the box of little cards (with the theme of my choice) and together the two of us would sit at the kitchen table, break apart the cards, and write all my classmates names on them.

Man, those were the days…

I remember my second grade class did this particular activity. We made the shoe boxes and took them home to decorate them.

I was beside myself excited to drop cards in all my classmates boxes.

Besides, who did I really love in 2nd grade?

I mean, if I did have a crush, I think the only length I would have taken would be to write his name in bold sharpie, you know, to “show all my love”.

It didn’t matter if I picked out a girl-ish card and got a box full of pokemon and star wars V-day cards, all that mattered was that someone thought of me enough to write my name on a card and slip it into my “mailbox”.

This particular 2nd grade class party for Mrs. Castleberry’s shining students at Forest Avenue Elementary sticks out so strong in my memory.

I was sitting at my desk reading all my letters from my mailbox when a boy in my class approached me.

The whole class fell silent and all eyes were on me… and him.

He was standing nervous by my desk as he mustered out a few shaky words,

“umm, Laura? Laura Plunkett, I mean. You’re really nice and I thought… well, I thought I might get you an extra present.”

DSC_1040 (1)He pulls a big heart shaped box of chocolates and hands them to me saying,

“They wouldn’t fit in your mailbox.. so I needed to hand them to you personally.”

I was awkward with bucked teeth and uneven bangs, and regardless of my unfortunate looks, my friend went out of his way to get something a little more than a tear apart card.

It wasn’t that the box cards weren’t nice, it was that it took more effort, thought, and energy to buy me that box of chocolates.

Now of course, the whole class ridiculed that poor boy for “crushing” on me.

I may have turned beet red and accepted it as awkwardly as it was given…

But man, I chowed down on some chocolates on the way home from school that day.

Delivering for Justice

We started out a venture to sell coffee on a downtown street corner on August 3, 2015.

The cart was a hit!

We got to meet hundreds of people and bring our coffee to multiple events.

colorboxphoto_12People came every day, some new faces and some familiar, but our hearts were SO thankful for those who came and gave their support.

IMG_3344We placed our cart on a corner where LOTS of folks have to walk by us on their way into work.

We realized right at the start that people loved having the *convenience* of a coffee pick-me-up right outside their office doors.

11855876_10206357311264113_904066235768605151_nThe convenience factor struck a chord within us that got us thinking of a *convenient* new idea.

IMG_3765What if we brought the coffee to your workplace?

Coffee every morning in canisters that keep the coffee hot for 12 hours and pick them up each afternoon!

Not just any coffee either, market town coffee.

Coffee that is roasted fresh every week and we promise you can taste the difference.

colorboxphoto_4We do more than sell coffee on the corner of downtown Montgomery…

We sell coffee to help others fight the injustice of Human Trafficking.

We have been able to help two organizations just in a few short months of business because of the purchases of coffee on the corner.

imageThink of how many more ways we can help fight Human Trafficking if your business/workplace let Market Town deliver coffee straight to your office!

We wouldn’t just be delivering coffee, we would be a delivery service for justice.
